Worcester Community Action Council Inc

The Worcester Community Action Council, Inc. was established in 1965 as the locally designated “community action” agency for the Economic Opportunity Act. Today, WCAC serves as an umbrella agency offering a variety of education, employment and social service programs.

As the federally mandated antipoverty agency for Central Massachusetts, our mission is “helping people move to economic self-sufficiency through programs, partnerships, and advocacy.” 130+ employees serve over 75,000 individuals and families through our programs and services annually – serving the City of Worcester and 45 neighboring communities. WCAC’s main office is located on the 2nd floor of the Denholm Building, 484 Main Street, Worcester, with satellite programs and classrooms presently located in Southbridge.
